To be eligible for the post of Associate Professor (General Surgery), candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Essential Qualifications:

• A recognized medical qualification included in the first or second Schedule or Part-II of the third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, now the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.
• Candidates with educational qualifications under Part-II of the third Schedule must meet the requirements under sub-section (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (now under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019).
• A postgraduate degree in the relevant specialty as per the official notification or an equivalent qualification.

1. Teaching Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in the concerned specialty. Alternatively, candidates with 6 years of combined teaching experience as Assistant Professor and Lecturer, with at least 4 years as an Assistant Professor post-postgraduation, may also apply.

1. Desirable Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh, along with suitability for working under the region’s unique conditions.
• At least 4 research publications indexed in Index Medicus or National Journals and 1 research publication in an International Journal.
